Tired of juggling multiple benches or squeezing into crowded gyms? The ATX Adjustable Bench Press (ATX-OBM-650-II) is your German-engineered solution, packing flat, incline, decline, and shoulder presses into a compact, heavy-duty frame with a 400kg bench capacity. With adjustable J-hooks and spotter arms in Westside increments, it’s perfect for home gyms, PT studios, or small setups where space is tight. The Roller Adjustment System (RAS) makes angle changes a breeze, and it accepts ATX attachments for leg, arm, and ab work.
Multi-Function Power: Flat, incline, decline, and shoulder presses in one bench, plus optional attachments for a full-body gym.
Space-Saving Design: Compact footprint with RAS keeps it snug against walls, ideal for Sydney, Melbourne, or Brissy home gyms.
Pro-Grade Build: 400kg bench capacity with adjustable J-hooks and spotters, built for serious lifters and studio use.
400kg Bench Capacity: Heavy-duty steel frame with 70mm x 70mm uprights and bracing for rock-solid stability under heavy loads.
15 Backrest Angles: Adjust from -10° decline to 82.5° incline for presses, rows, and more, with a smooth Roller Adjustment System.
Westside J-Hooks & Spotters: 300kg-rated J-hooks and spotter arms adjust in 2.5cm increments for precise, safe positioning.
Attachment-Ready: Compatible with ATX leg extension, preacher curl, ab crunch, and pec fly attachments (sold separately).
Rubber Stoppers & Feet: Protects your floor and barbell, with a spotting platform for added safety.
Most stand alone bench presses – whether it be flat, incline or decline – have limited start/stop positions. They may have just three or four that are spaced quite a distance apart. This is fine if you are lifting lighter weights, or you have a training partner to give you a spot. But if you are lifting heavy on your own, it is so much easier to lift off if you have the barbell set as close as possible to the top of the lift.
While we are on the topic of training alone, having adjustable spotter arms on a bench press is a massive bonus. For a gym owner, especially if it is open 24/7, this may be a requirement for insurance. So even if you have the space and budget for dedicated units, it may be better to get multiple ATX Adjustable Bench Presses.
Other adjustable bench presses may offer position adjustments. There would be very few that would offer such a diverse range. The reason being is that by going from flat to incline, if the base of the bench does not adjust, you may be too forward for a comfortable lift off in incline position.
Thanks to the ATX Roller Adjustment System (RAS), the ATX Adjustable Bench Press gets you into the perfect position no matter which variant you choose. The base seat is mounted on rollers. You simply grab the knurled handle and release the pop pin with your fingers – only one hand is required. The angles are laser cut into the chrome guide rail making it dead easy for you to set up your pressing position.
For personal trainers, it has the docking station for the various ATX Bench Attachments. The number of quality exercises that you can perform can potentially more than double. Not bad for “just a bench press”
Now personally I would not recommend this for a home gym unless you are seriously loaded with a massive shed. My preference would be a power rack or half rack with a bench as it offers much more variety in a similar footprint. But I know that there are people out there who love their benching. Old farts like myself will remember that a crappy bench press once constituted a complete home gym – that was all that was available in Australia years ago!
Now the ATX Adjustable Bench Press is far from crappy. Although not cheap compared to other bench presses, they do not come close to the quality and features on display here. Given the pressing options and functionality this unit offers amazing value for the gym owner.
